PULSE ENGINEERING High Current Power Bead SMT Inductors

Jul 21, 2023

Pulse Electronics High Current Power Bead SMT Inductors, available from Mouser Electronics, offer a high-performance solution for various applications requiring efficient power handling. These inductors are constructed with a ferrite core assembled over a 1T or 2T winding, providing exceptional features like extremely low DC resistance, high peak current capabilities, and minimal AC losses.

Three series of power bead inductors are available: the PA5615, PG2290, and PGL6395. The PA5615 series boasts a current rating of over 100 amps, an inductance range from 80 to 100 nanohenries, and a low DCR of 0.125 milliohms, all within a compact 10 by a 6-millimeter package with an 8.5-millimeter package height. Similarly, the PG2290 series offers a current rating of over 100 amps, inductance values ranging from 120 to 320 nanohenries, and a DC resistance of 0.15 milliohms, packaged in a 10.7 by 7.5 by 12-millimeter form factor. Lastly, the PGL6395 series features a current rating of over 140 amps, inductances from 70 to 220 nanohenries, and a low DCR of 0.23 milliohms, all within a 10.2 by 4.6 by 10-millimeter package.

The use of ferrite cores in these power bead inductors minimizes AC losses, while the single-turn construction enables ultra-low DC resistance. Additionally, they boast a moisture sensitivity level of 1 and are AEC-Q200 qualified for automotive applications, ensuring reliability and performance.

Pulse Electronics power bead inductors are ideally suited for high-current multi-phase voltage regulators that power processors, memory modules, and high-current ASICs and FPGAs. They find applications in various industries, including servers, graphics cards, storage, and data centers, thanks to their high energy density and robust performance.

Pulse Electronics High Current Power Bead SMT Inductors are designed to handle high power efficiently. With their advanced features, compact form factors, and AEC-Q200 qualification, these inductors are well-suited for a wide range of applications requiring reliable and high-performance power handling.
